Author Guidelines

The International Journal on Open and Distance e-Learning (IJODeL) welcomes original research articles, book reviews, theories, and best practices pertaining to ODeL worldwide. Articles should be 3,000-7,000 words including tables, figures, and references.

A publishable quantitatively-oriented paper should contain the following:

  1. Abstract (with keywords)
  2. Introduction
  3. Objectives
  4. Conceptual/Theoretical Framework
  5. Methodology (with a discussion on Ethical Standards considered)
  6. Results and Discussions
  7. Conclusions and Recommendations
  8. References

A publishable qualitatively-oriented paper should contain the following:

  1. Abstract (with keywords)
  2. Introduction
  3. Objectives of the Study
  4. Relevant Studies or Review of Related Studies 
  5. Discussions
  6. Conclusions
  7. Recommendations
  8. References

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

The copyright of the articles published in IJODeL rests with the authors after its publication. Authors reserve all rights to use all or part of their article in future works of their own. 

Upon acceptance of their work, authors grant the IJODeL a license to publish, distribute, and archive the content in perpetuity. By submitting to IJODeL, authors guarantee that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, free from plagiarism, and does not infringe any copyright of third parties.
